National Conference 2018

Next year's conference is to take place on the 23-24 June. The programme will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and include a conference dinner at the Queen Hotel and a selection of wrap around events.

A new addition to our social media family!

We are now officially on Pinterest! We have boards on inspirational women, books, travel, Lincoln (where our 2017 National Conference will be held) and more. Over time we will be adding more boards that we hope will feed your curiosity. So follow us on Pinterest and start pinning!

For those of you who have only heard of Pinterest but don't really know what it is, Pinterest is basically a free website where users can upload, save, sort, and manage images — known as pins — and other media content (eg, videos) through collections known as pinboards. It's free to use and requires that you register.

Go have a look at our Pinterest boards now and start your journey, or begin by reading up on how to use Pinterest.

If you've looked at the website this week, you'll have possibly noticed our new button in the website footer. It's our easyfundraising button and whether you occasionally shop online or do so regularly, you can be raising money for NWR at no extra cost to you. Go on, click on the button you see here or in the footer of the website (at the bottom of every web page) to find out how easy it is!

Help is here! How-to videos for uploading news and events to your group pages...

If you are a member who has web-updating access, hopefully you noticed a new tab on the website menu when you are logged in called 'website help'? Go have a look and watch our videos on how to add and edit news and events on your group pages. The training notes are also available for you to download.


There's a new Facebook group – and website forum category – in town!

We've added yet another Facebook group to our repertoire and this one is called NWR Publicity. Those of you who steer clear of Facebook, worry not, because we have also set it up as a forum category on our website.

Have you contacted local press for some NWR publicity? Then tell us all about it. We want to know what you are doing to help spread the word about NWR and if you received any press coverage. It could get really interesting to see what different groups are doing in this regard. And if you do get coverage, please also email the This email address is being protected from spambots. Calling for your top-notch photos for the homepage

The homepage is our ‘shop window’ and we need your brilliant photos of days out, talks, meetings etc. We are looking for photos with verve and colour. Consider that non-members will see this too (does your photo grab attention and make people want to join us?). The photos need to be landscape and don’t forget to supply us with a fun caption so anyone coming to the site – member or non-member – will know what they are looking at. Get snapping!

£100 event grant and help with publicity

Are you organising an NWR event? There is a subsidy of £100 available towards venue hire and speaker costs. For tips and advice on setting up an event read this blog post.

Posters, leaflets, postcards and copies of the magazine are also available. They are great to publicise your group or event and can be personalised with contact labels, which the office staff will be happy to prepare for you.
