POSITIVITY IN AN ERA OF CHAOS
Carlisle are hosting a One Day Conference on
Thursday 19th April 2018
We hope you will join us for an interesting day of stimulating debate.
Our three speakers are all fascinating women, who have a link with Cumbria and you will have an opportunity to discuss Positivity in an Era of Chaos in more detail in discussion groups.
Marie-Elsa Bragg is half French and half Cumbrian, and is a writer, lecturer, Priest and a Duty Chaplain of Westminster Abbey. Her debut novel is Towards Mellbreak - set in Cumbria.
She has worked for 20 years as a Spiritual Director and is a member of WATCH Parliament, a small group who work alongside parliament on women’s issues within the Church.
Miranda Kirschel MBE – founded Women in Nuclear UK in 2014 to improve gender balance and encourage capacity building in the nuclear industry and to improve engagement on nuclear with women in the public. She was awarded with a Queen’s Honour, an MBE, in 2016 for her services to equal opportunities to the nuclear industry, thanks to her work with WiN UK. She is also a Trustee on the Board of the Nuclear Institute.
Miranda leads nuclear business in the Infrastructure team of EY’s Advisory practice, where she has been the Stakeholder Lead for the UK Government’s assessment of Small Modular Reactors and their suitability to deliver energy to the UK.
Marcia Reid Fotheringham – Born in London and raised in New York where she studied and later worked in Massachusetts as a clinical psychologist.
Following her move to Cumbria in 1996 she was appointed a Magistrate in 2001 (both Adult Court and Family Court) becoming Chair of the North and West Cumbria Bench in 2017. Marcia is the High Sheriff of Cumbria elect for 2019/20.
The conference is being held at the Halston Hotel, 20-34 Warwick Road, Carlisle CA1 1AB, which is within easy walking distance of the train station and has ample car parking spaces in the area at a charge. Registration will be between 10.00 & 10.30am and the conference will close at approximately 4.00pm.
