The National Womens Register: Space to be you A place for talk

Rosie Whitehouse

Author

Rosie was our first speaker of the day on Saturday. She is married to frontline reporter, Tim Judah, and, with the help of extracts from her book, 'Are we there yet? Travels with my front-line family', she led us through her life as a mother of five children with whom she travelled to war torn areas of the world in order to keep her family together. She related the ways in which her children reacted to the various situations that they found themselves in and how she tried to protect them from knowing the dangers, particularly for their father. However, she soon realised that it was better to be honest with them! She told many amusing tales of the ways in which her children viewed, and reacted to, the situations that the family found themselves in. Her eldest son has now followed in his father's footsteps and is also a frontline reporter.

Rosie kindly offered to stay to talk to conference delegates and to sign her book, and was available for the rest of the morning and over lunchtime.
