Join Caitlin Heslop, London based artist and founder of Barely Drawing, for a drawing from nature course, where you will explore how to draw from natural forms using graphite pencil.
Please note the materials you will need for the sessions:
Paper
Pencils – I usually use 2B or 3B
Eraser
Sharpener
Colours – either pencils, pastels or pens
Natural forms to draw: e.g. flowers, plants, autumn leaves, shells, rocks, pinecones
Caitlin will lead you through a 4 week course, consisting of tonal colour theory, different methods of mark making, approaching composition and more sustained drawing studies.
Focus of each session:
1 Simplicity of line / portrait of a natural form
2 Rhythm and colour
3 Depth and tone
4 Final piece
The natural world is a theme that artists have taken inspiration from through the ages.
The classes are suitable for all abilities, and each class will work as a stand-alone session, or you can attend all four to see your work develop over the month of October!
