| Tuesday16th January | What makes you laugh? Think of an occasion that made you laugh, amused you or lifted your mood. It could be a book, a film, something on TV, or an incident that you have witnessed. Be prepared to share your recollection with others. |
| Wednesday 31st January | Women of Invention: choose a woman you admire – from engineering, medicine, fashion, healthcare. She might have been responsible for ubiquitous items [the windshield wiper & canned food] or something that is highly specialised, such as an intelligent antibiotic that targets only certain types of bacteria. |
| Tuesday 13th February | Mardi Gras – or Fat Tuesday. This will be our first event in line with NWR’s country focus for 2024 – the Caribbean. Come along to experience the music, food, and party atmosphere – traditionally celebrated the day before the start of Lent. Dress up if you like, but make/wear a mask – there will be a prize for the best one. |
| Wednesday 28 February | Foundations: what immediately comes to mind? Choose one understanding or interpretation of the word. Think along the lines of: basics, bases, establishments, garments, or something else and come along to share what you’ve found out: it can be serious or light-hearted. |
| Tuesday 12 March | Artificial Intelligence [AI]: the intelligence of machines or software, as opposed to the intelligence of humans or animals. Now widely used throughout industry, science & government, involving a broad range of problem-solving techniques. But where will it end? Will the result be good or bad for the future of mankind? |
| Wednesday 27 March | Getting Involved: an opportunity to find out about the many different types of volunteering with which our members are [or have been] involved, and other avenues you might want to explore. Tell us about what you do, why you do it and what you get out of it. |
