Ten of our members met on Tuesday evening to read through Linda Messham’s latest play, “Just A Check Up”. This play was set in the reception area of a dental surgery and featured dentists, hygienists, dental nurses, receptionists and patients. There were eleven roles which meant that only one person had to double up. Linda Messham provided us with the necessary scripts, name badges, police warrants plus a plan of the surgery. As a group we had to decide who had murdered the distinctly unpleasant patient, Mrs Sanderson. This was discussed in the coffee break at the end of scene 3. As a group we failed to determine who the murderer was as it was hard to decide without knowing some valuable family details.
However, it was an evening enjoyed by all and the script did provide some funny lighter moments.
