Last week Kilbarchan group met (during Holy Week for Christians) to discuss different, lesser known religions and their festivals. This topic was suggested after we visited the Glasgow Gurdwara last year. It proved to be an interesting and informative meeting. The different religions discussed were:
The Baha’i faith – Taoism -Jainism – Sikhism- Confucianism – Zoroastrianism – Modern Shamanism
We had to admit to not having heard of some of them prior to the meeting but concluded that they all shared similar core beliefs around a code of conduct which included compassion, kindness, charity and love. Followers create a shared identity and purpose.
