NWR The Science of Self-Compassion with Heather Parker

Wednesday, 29 July at 4pm.  This talk will be recorded.

Many of us know that self-compassion is meant to be good for our wellbeing. But what does it really mean? Why is it so difficult? And won’t we be less effective if we stop being hard on ourselves?

In this talk, coach and psychologist Heather Parker of Mind & Co will answer these questions by exploring what research has to say about the benefits of self-compassion, why it doesn’t come naturally to us, and how we can develop it.

Heather is a psychologist and coach, and the founder of Mind & Co. She helps people to thrive, by providing safe spaces and evidence-based tools for people to support their mental and emotional wellbeing.

With a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge and an MSc in Psychological Sciences from UCL, Heather is a scientist at heart. She enjoys translating academic findings into accessible, engaging, and practical insights, ensuring that her audience not only gain understanding but also tangible tools to enhance their day-to-day wellbeing.
