We are friendly, supportive group of women aged mostly in our 60s through to 90s who like to have fun.
Our monthly discussion topics take place mostly in our homes (there is no obligation to host) but sometimes will meet in a village hall if we have a speaker. with varied programme of discussions and outings.
Our main sub-group ‘The Book Club’ is very popular and is not afraid to tackle controversial books. We also arrange theatre trips, lunches and evening meals.
Recent topics for discussion in the group include:
– The Moral Maze, where we take topics from the Radio 4 programme
– Cultural experiences from different countries lived in by our members including Russia, Egypt, The Benelux countries and the Caribbean
We also have food evenings and an annual garden party usually involving a quiz on the theme e.g July 4th, when we traced one family in the village back to the President of the United States.
Our annual croquet tournament is very competitive! We also take part in the Telephone Quiz which we try very hard to win.
