Wednesday, 13 March

11.00am Phobias and How to Overcome Them with John Black

Phobias are extremely common and we can all develop a phobia to almost anything. In this fascinating talk John will outline how phobias operate in our mind, go through some interesting examples and explain how they can be very simply removed.

6.00pm – British Women in Aviation – The Pioneers with Guy Bartlett

This talk explores the contribution of British women in the world of aviation.

We explore the lives and stories of some aviation pioneers, women such as the first fast-jet pilot in the RAF, the only female captain of Concorde and, more recently, the youngest female pilot to fly around the world.

An inspirational talk, highlighting the bravery and skill of British women through the years.

Thursday, 14 March

11.00am – Fun with Poetry with Julie Kenny

Invite your imagination to run riot with this interactive workshop where Julie will using some of her poems to take a non-academic view on how poetry can capture emotions, experiences and build creativity. 

You will be encouraged to find your own inspirations, start writing and, if you have the courage to do, share your results. No prior experience is required.

2.00pm – Looking Good with Colour with Sue Burton

Sue will inspire you with her colourful, entertaining and educational presentation which demonstrates how wearing the right colours, or the wrong colours, can make a huge difference to how good you look as well as how confident you feel.  

See how easy it can be to create a colour co-ordinated wardrobe of clothes and accessories and how to create the maximum number of outfits to wear from a minimum amount of garments. 

The presentation is suitable for ladies of all ages and  provides a taster of what to expect during a more in-depth studio or a virtual colour consultation.  ALL attendees will be invited to attend a studio consultation at a discounted price or an online virtual consultation. 

7.00pm – Call me Auntie – Anne’s Story with Anne Harrison

Anne will talk about her book Call me Auntie, including her childhood in care, her triumphs and disasters along the way as she lost and found her mother more than once, her search for her roots, and her eventual discovery of her heritage.

Themes she will touch on include the trials of the Windrush generation, experiences of transracial fostering and child care, and the importance of memory and possessions for looked-after children.

Friday, 15 March

10.00am – Afro Fusion Dance Fitness Class with Kenzi Ireland

Expect a fun filled, vibrant and energising dance fitness class with an irresistible soundtrack of Afro and Caribbean music.

This class will consist of a series of short routines where you’ll explore a fusion of African diaspora movements, ranging from traditional to contemporary dance styles.

In Afrofusion Dance Fitness Class, we celebrate the freedom of individual expression within a supportive community setting. Kenzi will encourage your creative spirit to shine and embrace your unique style.

This class is designed to be suitable for all fitness levels to join and Kenzi will be reminding you that movements can be adapted and explored to find a way that works for your body and personal movement style.

2.00pm – Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) with Ruby Hunt

An overview of the life saving HEMS service that we provide to Kent Surrey & Sussex, the steps we are making in new life saving research, and the work we do as an Air Ambulance Charity.
