The NWR chosen country for this year is the Nordic island of Iceland so we will be exploring this. We have a presentation planned with a member’s husband who has visited this land of ‘Ice and Fire’ many times on field trips and will be sharing with us his experiences of the icecaps, glaciers, spouting geysers and hot springs, volcanic landscape and northern lights.
Whilst watching the presentation we will be enjoying Traditional Pönnukökur (Icelandic pancakes) with sugar, skyr yogurt and fruit.
We will also have a discussion on the birds of Iceland from a member who is a very knowledgeable ‘birder’.
