NWR Becoming A House Detective – Researching the Story of Historic Buildings with Stephen Poulter

The author of a number of local history books shares his experience of researching the story of his 17th century, oak timbered cottage in a tiny village in rural Norfolk. He’ll recount the tales of the owners and residents of his own house over more than 300 years, whilst describing the various processes and historic documents involved in investigating an historic property so that anyone can set out on their own journey of historical discovery.

Since 2010 Stephen Poulter has given hundreds of talks for all sorts of community organisations including U3A, WI, Rotary, plus local history and church social groups. For the past seven years he has delivered Adult Leisure Courses across East Anglia and online for a variety of community training organisations. Stephen also runs an online antiques and vintage business.
