Inside the Viking mind – Norse Folklore with Sandy Leong

2-3pm

The Vikings had complex view of a four-fold ‘soul; they practised sorcery; and they saw the work of elves, dwarves, trolls, and nature-spirits in everyday life; some of these beliefs linger on in the psyche of northern people. Often referred to as ‘the Hidden People’ they are part of folklore from the past. The rich traditional beliefs, customs, and superstitions passed on to attempt to give meaning to their lives and surroundings, this is a fascinating look at old Scandinavian beliefs.

This talk will be recorded and will be available to listen to for 4 weeks.
