About the event
Join Jane Barrett, Berkhamsted based artist and Footwear Designer, for her second block of six weekly workshops in Mindful Art, where you will explore line art, graphic painting, collage, origami, metal embossing and articulated animals. These will be fun, interactive sessions, led by Jane who will create alongside you on Zoom!
The classes are suitable for all abilities, and by the end of each workshop you will produce your own unique piece of artwork.
Focus of each workshop including materials you will need for each week:
Week 1. Line Art Animals
- apron – to protect your clothes
- newspaper – to protect the surface you are working on if you need to
- thick paper – white or cream
- pencil & rubber
- either black pen or pencil
- either coloured pens or pencils
Week 2. Yayoi Kusama Mushroom
- apron – to protect your clothes
- newspaper – to protect the surface you are working on
- card- white or cream, (you can use the back of a cereal packet)
- scissors
- pencil & rubber
- acrylic paints
- paintbrushes
Week 3. Kitch Collage
- apron – to protect your clothes
- newspaper – to protect the surface you are working on
- card- white or cream,
- scissors &/or crafting knife
- glue – pritt stick or pva
- selection of images you have found in magazines &/or newspapers
Week 4. Origami Stars
- paper selection – your choice
- scissors
- hole punch
- string
Week 5. Metal Embossing
- apron – to protect your clothes
- newspaper – to protect the surface you are working on if you need to
- sheet metal embossing kit with tools
- line drawings of what you want to emboss – to scale
- scissors
- blu-tac
Week 6. Articulated Animals
- apron – to protect your clothes
- newspaper – to protect the surface you are working on
- paper
- thick card
- pencils
- paints
- split pins
- scissors/craft knife/needle
We will send out a pre-lesson plan by email each week outlining what the next session will cover and to highlight any materials you will need to prepare.
If you are unable to join the live classes, you will be able to catch up at your convenience as we will be recording each class. We will email ticket holders a link to the recording after the event once we have edited and uploaded the video. Please do not share this link with anyone as this is a paid event.
