We are a large and thriving group, with a history going back over 30 years!
We meet fortnightly during term times on Thursdays at 8pm. We take part in national themed evenings and the Telephone Treasure Trail, and also have regular social events: Progressive dinner, Spring Walk, Summer barbecue, and Christmas Dinner. We occasionally organise outings and theatre visits.
We have several Local Organisers to ease the load and help create a very varied programme, which always includes a number of speakers as well as ideas from members. Speakers are often relatives and friends of members who have knowledge of specialist subjects.
We take it in turns to host the meetings in our own homes, although there is no obligation to do so, and welcome new members. We have a separate monthly book group.
We are also interested in hearing from nearby groups and maybe swapping speakers and info on successful evenings.
