We are a group of retired women who meet monthly on a weekday evening for discussions and chat. We usually meet in our homes (there is no obligation to host) although we also meet at venues for other events. We also meet during the day for activities like walks and visits to exhibitions. We have played croquet, had afternoon tea, gone to plays and films and gone for walks. We also have a book swap.
Typical meetings might be:
- Uniforms – a discussion on what uniforms have we worn, what did we think of them and are they a good idea?
- Book evening, bring along a book you have enjoyed to discuss or possibly swap.
- The NWR themed country this year is the Caribbean. We could choose one island or the whole region. Do a bit of research and bring something to eat or drink.
- Trip to the Botanics, possibly one of their talks or guided walks.
New members of all ages and backgrounds would be welcomed, we consider ourselves friendly, lively and informal.
