We are friendly and supportive group aged mostly in our 60s through to our 80s from a variety of working backgrounds who enjoy meeting for informal discussions and conversation.
Our group meets fortnightly alternately in the Heritage Centre common room or in a member’s home in the evenings on a Monday to Thursday rotation.
Examples of recent discussion topics we’ve had are:
– Grace – the means of; the name Grace, research a person, etc
– Talk by Lindsay Whitehouse – first ever Deputy PCC for Essex, Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner
– What was in the news when your mother was born
– A ‘Stan’ Country i.e. Pakistan
We also meet twice a month for ‘coffee afternoons’ in the Heritage Centre.
