NWR meetings are the perfect opportunity to make more local friends. They will always include a light-hearted discussion topic which acts as an ice-breaker and we generally find our discussions go off in all sorts of wonderful directions! There is no obligation to contribute to the discussion if you’d prefer to just listen and join in with the chat afterwards.
The meetings will be led by Jane and Denise and will take place in a quiet centrally located pub during the day every few weeks. We are still trying out places to find locations that work for us with regard to accessibility, parking, noise levels, and seating in the round so that we can see each other – we found that long tables don’t work for us.
Our second meeting was at 12noon on Monday 10 February 2025 in Poynton. We were very giddy and still getting organised but had the pleasure of hearing Sally from Poynton 1 explain how their Supper Club works, so that we had an idea of what to do.
As we are getting more sensible, our sub-groups are taking shape and getting going – Crochet group seems to have already disappeared, but Gin & Whisky group has evolved! I wonder if it is a reflection of our colourful ladies!
