The Book Group held our Planning Meeting last week at the lovely private room in the cafe at the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. Unfortunately only 5 of us managed along due to ill health and holidays. Over a lovely lunch we reviewed our Big Read choice of The Little Book(s) of Icelanders and chose our books for the coming season.
We each bring two choices and from them we try to create a varied choice for our monthly book. We also choose a book we can watch together in early December and compare the book with the film. This year it is The Go Between by LP Hartley. This meeting also doubles as our Book Group Christmas party with treats to hand like popcorn and an intermission with ice-cream lollies!
