Yesterday 5 of us (plus 2 partners) visited David Hockney’s latest artwork, displayed in the magnificent attic space of Salt’s Mill, Saltaire.
The new 295ft long artwork depicts the changing seasons within his French garden in lockdown. ‘A Year in Normandie’ was made by joining some of the 220 paintings he created on his ipad which were printed on paper and shown in a continuous length. This is his largest work and its first showing in the UK. A unique piece, it is a beautiful evocation of the changing seasons over the course of one year. We highly recommend and several of us plan to make a second visit!
It was one of the hottest days this year, so we took our picnic to enjoy beside the canal whilst watching the passing barges and canoeists.
