I have watched the recording of the Shackleton talk by Jeremy Holmes from National Conference and found it interesting.
I find exploration into cold climes absolutely fascinating. A book I can recommend which will put a lot of ‘meat on the bones’ of the above talk is:
South: the story of Shackleton’s 1914-1917 expedition – Beware, it is very dense with information but if you have a real interest in the subject it is well worth it.
