Today 5 of us had a lovely afternoon at Saltaire, UNESCO World Heritage Site on the outskirts of Bradford. The village and Salts Mill were built in 1853 by Sir Titus Salt. After an excellent lunch at nearby Dandelion Cafe (our first indoor meal together in 2 years!) we explored the Mill’s artworks, the bookshop and many other items of interest. The vast ceramic mural (in the photo) by Philippa Threlfall is a beautifully intricate work illustrating local landmark buildings including Salts Mill (centre horizon). Our afternoon rounded off with tea at the Boathouse Inn beside the River Aire.
