Eight of us met at the Florentine to present subjects beginning with the initials of NWR.
N – Natwest-one member’s first job here involved individually stamping cheque books with name and account number on each page and posting off statements (this trip also involved shopping for other staff!)
W – Wool and Watercolour. During lockdown one member, working in the NHS, took refuge in new hobbies-crochet (squishing the wool delighted her) and painting. We saw some results of both.
W – Working from home. A member joined an organisation helping stay at home mothers retain and improve their skills.
W – Worker bees. We marvelled at the useful way these creatures spent their short lives keeping the hive and the queen bee healthy, clean and safe.
R -Relocate. A daughter in Sheffield, parents in the south and lockdown persuaded one member to relocate.
The next meeting is on Tuesday May 13th at 6.30pm to look at our oldest books.
We have also been invited to join with the three other Sheffield groups for the annual NWR walk on Monday 5th May.
