We planned an early arrival to enable a prompt start for this year’s Treasure Trail quiz. We assumed that the theme was animals as we had already worked out our starter question and the web clue which helped to focus the mind. The phone calling was frantic and constant with lovely calming NWR responses from the clue holders and only one misdial resulting in “I haven’t a clue what you are talking about! Good bye!” In fear of dialling this number again, we called on an emergency clue holder and got the response we needed plus the new clue.
The quiz was a good balance of slightly easier answers which gave us confidence to continue together with some real head-scratching conundrums. The seven of us present managed to get the majority of answers with some inspired thinking and team effort. For the final few, we called on our Champion Quiz Master, Sue, who was on holiday in Spain and had agreed to be called upon if we needed it! We completed the quiz shortly before the two hours were up.
We had a lot of fun and felt we’d earned our refreshments at the end. A big thank you to Leicester South group for hosting the quiz and to Sam in the office for managing all the logistics.
