Weymouth
NWR’s country of the year 2022 is of course the USA. Weymouth group held a meeting last night following the theme. There was a great turnout for the meeting and we had 16 members gathered to share information on the National Parks of that country.
Offerings ranged from the smallest ….Gateway Arch at only 91 acres, to the larger more well known like Yosemite and Yellowstone, and the little known Crater Lake National Park and included The Grand Canyon; Joshua tree; Saguaro; Yosemite; Rocky Mountain; Great Falls; Badlands; Sequoia; Crater Lake; Hot springs Arkansas; Great Falls;
Members gave us their memories of a visit, and of having one of the parks as their local recreational area, whilst living in the country. We learned a bit about the life cycle of the enormous cacti of the Saguaro National park that we are all familiar with from watching western films over the years. All together a most interesting evening, and it was really great to have so many attending.
