The Glasgow area lunch proved to be an exceptional event.
From the guest speaker to the meal and the excellent organisation by the mixed group committee, (see photo above) everything excelled.
Held at The Boarding House, Howwood in Renfrewshire the meeting started with an inspirational, quirky and humorous talk from Corinne Hutton on how she contracted sepsis 10 years ago resulting in her losing both her hands and feet. She became the first Scot to receive a double Hand transplant and with the help of her family set up Scotland’s leading amputee charity “Finding your Feet” which helps individuals and their families affected by amputation or limb absence. She also promoted both organ and (more rare) limb donation, making a plea that people should think about this life changing decision now rather than leave the decision to families. A very entertaining and informative talk from a truly inspirational woman.
An excellent 3 course lunch with wine followed with the delegates, who the committee had mixed, having plenty of time to discuss the talk and get to know each other.
