Visit to Emery Walker’s House

Our visit this month will be to Emery Walker’s House, Hammersmith. Walker was a friend of William Morris but came from a working class background and left school at the age of 13. Despite his humble beginnings he went on to found his own printing company which specialised in the use of works of art for book illustration. His house is a fascinating mixture of William Morris design wallpapers, fabrics, rare lino, Philip Webb furniture and glass as well as older furniture and ceramics.

Sue has already booked our tour as the house is only open for guided tours of small groups. If you are unable to join us there is more information on Emery Walker and the collection plus a virtual tour of the house and garden on the website: https://www.emerywalker.org.uk/
