The meeting on 10th July was scheduled as a walk and pub meeting. However the weather was blisteringly hot, and it was the evening of a World Cup Football match so Beryl kindly offered us a last-minute venue for the evening and we enjoyed a free-style discussion on a range of topics including: Salisbury poisoning, Homelessness, Indian charities, Suffragettes, Reith Lecture, RAF 100th Anniversary, Servicemen’s wives, NWR, WI and first impressions. Even though it was hastily arranged it was an enjoyable evening.
