The picture of our group in front of Ruskin House was taken during our “Ruskin Reach” walk to celebrate Ruskin’s 200th anniversary in 2019. Ruskin House was his first original Museum in Walkley Sheffield and it served as an inspiration to local craftsmen many of whom went on to became nationally famous for their own creative skills.
This picture in front of Green Lane Works was taken during our Kelham Island Trail, to highlight how a former heavily industrialised area in Sheffield is being transformed into “The North’s Newest Hipster Hotspot”.
The picture in front of the “Vimto” sculpture was taken during a trip to the Manchester Art Gallery. On our walk from the train to the Museum, we came across this sculpture on the site of the factory which produced Vimto….giving rise to nostalgic childhood memories of the drink!
The “Hats” photo was taken at Barnsley’s Cooper Gallery where we saw a Picasso Exhibition. At the Barnsley Experience Museum we saw “The Barnsley Pals Exhibition” about local lads in WW1.
