Another 3rd Monday of the month, and we’ve met again! Our numbers had doubled since last time, and the meeting was very lively. Our topic this month was “hobbies”, and to everyone’s amazement no two hobbies being described were the same. As a result we had all kinds of stories and questions flying around.
Conversations included things like “Where can I learn tap dancing? Who teaches nude sketching? Is there a Hatherleigh group of open water swimmers? Which beaches do you go to to find the tumbled glass for your mosaics? Would any one like to write letters for charity?” With horse riding, dog walking, gardening, and the arts also being discussed, there was a general feeling that we should begin to keep a record of everyone’s knowledge so we can all find our way to these interesting activities.
As a group we made a few decisions. The first was that we would wear wellies on 19-11-24 in support of the farmers. The second decision was that we will book a Christmas meal on 9-11-24 at 1830. So far there are 8 of us going, with Rita volunteering to be the quiz master for the evening. Contact Clare if you want your name added to the list.
The date for our January meeting is 20th, and it will be an afternoon meeting – 2.30 – 4. We decided our next subject would be “2024”. This could be anything from the year – a piece of public news or a story from you and your family.
