Kilbarchan have held their first Floor Curling Bonspiel! 10 members played singles and doubles games at Greenacres Curling Club, in the Renfrewshire hills before enjoying lunch at the clubhouse.

Floor Curling is an adapted version of the Olympic sport of Curling, played without ice on a shorter sheet, using smaller, lighter stones with wheels. One has the option of using a ‘pushing stick’ or bending down to throw the stone. It can be played by individuals of all ages and abilities on any smooth, flat surface. The sport is growing quickly across the world due to its accessibility and can by played recreationally or competitively.

The joint winners were Fiona & Margaretha ( who had to leave before the presentation of the Winner’s Trophy). They will share the trophy until next year’s tournament hopefully including other local groups in the area – if they would are interested.
