On a warm, sunny day in August, the Medina IW NWR group assembled in Newport to take part in the Art Walk. Dotted around the main town of the Isle of Wight are 18 full-size reproductions of works of art from the National Gallery. From Van Gogh’s Sunflowers to Turner’s Fighting Temeraire, the streets of Newport provided an excellent way to display the artwork with plenty of interesting information about the artists and their work. Needless to say, the walk also included a coffee break in the Minster cafe and concluded with a delicious lunch at Quay Arts Centre.
