We are a very friendly active group of 19 and meet mainly in members’ homes, but there is no obligation to host, especially if you are new to the group. Meetings generally involve researching a topic or discussion, with the occasional speaker. We also have other events such as evening walks, pub quizzes, meals out, theatre trips etc. Our evening meetings are on varied weekdays (but not Fridays), start promptly at 8.00pm and finish around 10.00 – 10.30pm. We also have a couple of daytime meetings/trips per programme.
We have two programmes per year, running from April – October and October – April. (Scroll down to see our latest programme). Two members plan each programme, with the volunteers for the next programme established at each planning meeting (new members are not expected to be involved until they feel ready). But most of us chip in with suggestions and offers to host/organize etc. We also have an active book-group. Scroll down to see our latest programme.
New members are very welcome and we’d love to hear from you. As well as the annual subscription to NWR, we sometimes charge a small amount to cover the cost of a speaker. We now have a local supplement of £5 paid in October.
Contact via the form below and we’ll get back to you promptly. We look forward to hearing from you!
