We have fortnightly evening meetings starting at 7:30pm on rolling days from Monday to Thursday. We are a very friendly bunch who try to make our evening programme varied with a good mix of serious and light-hearted topics. Although we are mostly ladies of a certain age being very young at heart we are keen to welcome anyone and everyone to join us.
We also meet outside the regular programme with a monthly book group and lunch club. We invite our partners and friends to some of our extra ad-hoc activities like garden and theatre visits. We enjoy speakers and visiting local places of interest for guided tours. Other additional meetings have over the years become regular events in our programme that everyone can look forward to – our annual after Christmas Party in the winter and outdoor concerts in the summer not forgetting the bi-monthly wine appreciation group, and our Bridge Group who enjoy a weekly game.
A little group history with pictures through the years. In our group we are very lucky to have Lyn who is a great amateur photographer. Over the years she has tended to take the lead taking pictures at meetings or events going back many years. Lyn’s pictorial archive shown here is from one of our old celebration evenings currently we are looking further back to see if any older pictures have survived. Its lovely to remember some of the fabulous memories we have created over the years.
The gallery shows what a hardy bunch we are on one of our local beaches with the wind blowing to a wonderful summer garden visit and an outdoor chilly lunch. Then a few of our zoom lockdown meetings and lastly another of our celebrations…this time it’s our Christmas lunch. And yes it does show how many of us on both celebration pictures have, like our wine, improved with age.
