We are a group of about 12 women, aged from 50-70’ish, some retired and some working. We meet in each others houses, once a month at 2.30pm. Usually it is the 1st Monday of the month, unless it is a Bank Holiday, or there is a reason for it being another one.
We have a summer and a Christmas social, for the members only. Some groups will invite partners to these but we do not. Sometimes we go out for the socials, but more often we take food to share and go to one of our houses.
We try and take part in the area events, which include quizzes, theatre trips and day conferences, and also a telephone treasure trail. We have a planning meeting maybe once or twice a year to sort out venues and bring ideas to put towards the new programme. Sometimes we have a speaker, but these are quite often fairly costly. We do not meet in August except as a social, as quite a lot of people are away.
