Crookes Sheffield NWR recently invited Fulwood NWR to join us for a conducted tour around Sheffield’s Victorian Cemetery. The theme was Women and we learned how women were portrayed on gravestones as wives, mothers, daughters and relicts (widows), never for their own achievements! The Cemetery was originally landscaped in 1836 in by the famous landscape designer, Robert Marnock and is now a peaceful haven of tranquillity and a record of Sheffield’s Victorian legacy.
