Beverley & District Burnby Hall – Part 1 Spring & Summer – Tulips, Fish and Waterlilies

We are very lucky to have this beautiful spot on our door step so to speak. Eighteen miles from Beverley is Burnby Hall Gardens. This first set of pictures is Spring 2024 Tulip Festival mid- April to early May we usually meet for lunch at the LilyPad Cafe and then take our walk round to see the tulips stopping along the way to see the DoveCote and feed the Fish (the lakes are home to thousands of Carp, Roach and Rudd who actually come and gather to be feed know wonder there are some whoppers!! There are around 130 varieties with over 18,000 tulips planted formally displayed in tubs and flower beds across the site. The cascade of colours throughout the gardens is a joy to behold and leaves you feeling good about life…………..

From Mid June until the end of August we visit to see the beautiful water Lillie’s. The most eye-catching of these are in the Upper and Lower Lakes, home to over 100 Varieties of Hardy Water Lilly. A visiting symposium agreed this designated National Collection is set in the best natural setting in Europe.
