A very informative evening, accompanied by food and drink, was enjoyed by the Deepings group. We learned about poet Grace Nichols (and read “Wherever I Hang”), Rastafarianism, The West Indies cricket team, life in Trinidad & Tobago, Caribbean voices & Una Mason, interesting facts and maps & geography. Culinary delights included jerk chicken, rice & peas and homemade Jamaican-style ginger cake. Not forgetting tipples of pina colada and Bacardi rum & cola.
