It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our member in Boston Group
Elizabeth Laver in the Autumn of 2025.
She was an early member of our group, some existing members can go back as far
as the 60’s. she left for a few years and rejoined in 2018.
Elizabeth was a valued member participating in our meetings with a good knowledge,
of the subject and with great vigour and humour, especially for the great age she reached, and she will be remembered fondly for her delicious cakes.
We believe she was within 90 years old. She died in a nursing home in Buxton, near
her family, after a short spell in Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.
She was cremated in Buxton, and her family held in an invitation only ‘wake’ in Boston.
Elizabeth always kept most things Scottish and never lost her accent.
