On the lovely sunny, colourful autumn morning of Friday 3 November a select group of our members met at Ickworth House, a National Trust property near Bury St Edmunds famous for its Rotunda among other features. Whilst the house itself is now closed for the winter, the grounds offer a range of differently graded walks through parkland and woodland – well worth a visit should any visitors fnd themselves in the area. After a virtuous 3 miles or so, covered at a brisk pace, we felt it necessary to check out the coffee and scones in the cafe (of course), meeting up with other members who couldn’t make it for the walk. It’s good to meet up somewhere other than in a member’s living room, and in the daytime for a change – and naturally there is always plenty to chat about as we are walking along!
