May Walk

As part of the NWR walking series Salisbury group went on two walks. This shows the first one at Clearbury ring where the curious cattle left us just enough room to get through the gate .

. A five mile walk south of Salisbury, Clearbury Ring is one of about 150  univallate Iron Age hill forts in southern England, .

The second walk was a 3.5 mile walk in Bentley Wood. To the east of Salisbury this is a nature reserve owned by a charitable trust and famous for its butterflies and other wildlife.

In each case the walks concluded with coffee or lunch at a local village pub.
