The Coventry NWR group are sad to announce the death of their longest serving member, Joy Bromfield on Friday 6th December 2024. She was one of the first members of the group, which started in Coventry in 1979, along with her neighbour Muriel Allen, who founded the group. She was involved in hosting the National Conference in 1981 at Warwick University and was involved in helping organise another conference there a few years later.

She participated in many NWR activities and quizzes and also featured in a book written by the Women’s Research group, called “Telling Tales”, which was published in 2003. This book featured women and groups of women involved in Coventry life. She will be sorely missed by the group.
