Crewe’s Jewel in the Crown

As part of Heritage Week, Crewe & District group enjoyed a tour of Queens Park, expertly guided by the secretary of Friends of Queens Park, Sheila. She said on a number of occasions that she wasn’t an expert just an enthusiast, but her knowledge and love for the ‘Jewel of Crewe’ was very much in evidence. Queens Park was gifted to the people of Crewe by the London and North Western Railway. It was the brainchild of Frank Webb and Richard Moon, philanthropist and railway owners in 1887. It is now Grade II * listed. Photos show the 2 Lodges, the homage to Frank Webb and Richard Moon on the Lodges.
