Newsons Farm – Developing a Nature Reserve 🌳

We will visit Newsons Farm, where the current owners – having bought it at auction in 1995 – have been following their dream of developing the 13 acres of land for wildlife and conservation.
Newsons Farm is one of Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s ‘County Wildlife Sites’ (CWS), of which there are 900 county-wide.

We will be shown around this small but very successful nature reserve, looking at what has been achieved, including the wildflower meadow, the large ponds, and the 1000 trees they planted in 1997. We may see a Kingfisher, a Great crested newt and butterflies, or maybe hear/see a Turtle dove.

Outline timetable:
2.30 Meet and Introduction to the site
3.00 – 4.00/4.30  Tour of site
4.00/4.30 – 5.30  Refreshments – tea and scones!🫖

Please arrange car-sharing where possible, as parking is limited to 9 cars.
Janice will send further details, directions etc in due course.
