Kilbarchan group was established over 40 years ago and currently consists of members living in Kilbarchan and surrounding towns. These include Kilmalcolm, Bridge of Weir, Paisley, Johnstone and Renfrew.
We are a busy group of 17 members and rarely have a week without a meeting, whether it is a topic based meeting in a member’s home or via Zoom, a book group meeting, a visit to a place of interest, a theatre or cinema visit, a walk with the walking group or just a coffee get-together in a local coffee shop. We try to offer something for everyone and welcome new ideas.
Occasionally we have joint meetings with other local groups, especially if there is a guest speaker, to help ensure we have a good number attending. The day/time of meetings can vary to try and accommodate everyone’s schedule and in the winter months we might meet in the afternoon or use Zoom for meetings to avoid driving in the dark on country roads.
Our programme runs from mid August until the end of June with a break for Christmas and New Year. During our summer break we meet up occasionally for coffee and/or walks if there is enough interest.
We have several WhatsApp groups. As well as one for the whole group there are also dedicated groups for members of the Walking Group and Book Group plus the occasional short life group for specific visits.
Please download a copy of our current programme (see the Downloads section further down the page) to see what our plans are for the current session. You can also see each upcoming meeting listed in date order in “Upcoming Events” which is at the end of the “Latest Updates” section.
As well as providing you with access to your own group meetings, membership of NWR also allows you to access on-line talks, exercise classes, virtual book clubs and various NWR Facebook groups, all provided by our Head Office.
We welcome new members so please get in touch through the “Contact Kilbarchan Group” link above and Susan our Local Organiser will be in touch for a chat over a coffee and to invite you to our next meetings or event.

We’re a friendly bunch – see for yourself by clicking on the download button below (you might have to go to your download folder to find the video clip) and watch a short montage of Kilbarchan Group members out and about in various places over the last few years.
