We are a friendly group of sixteen members and our meetings take place in each other’s homes (there is no obligation to host!) every fortnight at 2pm.
We are fairly well spread in the local area in villages in and around Sudbury and Long Melford. The age range of our group is from 70yrs-80yrs and we are more than happy to welcome one and all.
If you are new to the area, joining NWR is a good way to meet people and make new friends.
Our programme is varied and we try to mix it with serious and light subjects, examples are a games afternoon, research and talk about a saint, what is the oldest book you possess, a favourite piece of art and a picnic. Also included in the programme are days or afternoons out and about. Outside of this we have monthly garden outings running from April to September with of course coffee and cake, and there is a regular book group. Occasionally we have theatre outing to the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmonds.
Every July we have our garden party, and at Christmas time we all go out to lunch.
