The Welwyn NWR group met in a cosy corner of The Red Lion for October’s meeting, for which the topic of discussion was “Breakfasts: The importance of, the history of. What do you enjoy for breakfast? Breakfasts from around the world”. It was good to see a couple of new faces join us too.
The discussion covered a brief history of breakfasts and the most popular breakfasts in the UK before a general discussion about what our most memorable breakfasts have been, our favourite and our worst. We heard that some of us don’t eat until later in the day, some love breakfast in bed, and others really do not! We learned that the most expensive breakfast is sold at a Manhattan hotel for $2000: a frittata that includes 10 ounces of Sevurga caviar, an entire lobster, six fresh eggs, cream, chives and lobster sauce and served over a bed of Yukon gold potatoes. We all could think of better things to spend $2000 on!
We then had plenty of time for a general chat to get to know one another.
