Due to the Bookham NWR quiz team winning this year’s village quiz in the Old Barn Hall our whole group has the privilege of organising next year’s quiz.
Despite there being 18 teams of 8 in the competition this year your groups representatives, Jenny C, Jenny L, Jenny W, Caroline, Kathy, Crys, Wendy and Kim managed to score 176 points making them the winners overall. With diverse rounds on Besides the Seas, Nature and Science (our Joker round), food and drink, TV and films and music (a periennial favourite) we seemed to know most of the answers (or at least more than anybody else). We weren’t very good with identifying dogs from films and cartoons but even that didn’t bring us down enough to ensure that we came second.
So ladies, all holidays for Village Week 2020 are cancelled (only allowed if notes in triplicate signed by your mother are submitted). We need all the help we can get on the night. There will be raffle tickets to sell, papers to mark, setting up to do but we won’t have to make the tea.
I’m sure it will be fine…
