Thursday 7th July  NWR theme 2022 – Our evolving relationship with food. Research a decade of the 20thC and tell us what food was being eaten then, if this was linked to the social conditions at the time and what “new” kitchen appliances and foods were being introduced. Can you link this to your grandparent’s, parent’s or your childhood diet?Zoom
Thursday 28th JulyMorning visit to an NGS garden, The Firs, Barbridge. Followed by lunch at the Barbridge Inn. 
Wednesday 10th AugustResearch the history of a fruit or vegetable e.g. potato, banana. Can this be linked with social history? Do we eat more or less of it now than in the past? Why is this?  Zoom
Thursday 25th August  Research an American musician or composer, tell us about him/her and play some music.Zoom
Tuesday 6th SeptemberOur annual Harvest Supper and auction. Bring along a contribution to the supper and items to auction eg books, plants, cakes, preserves etcTBA
Thursday 22nd September  Come along and join in a whodunnit by NWR playwright Linda Messham. A fun evening which also benefits her charity.   Also planning for the next programme. 
Tuesday 4th OctoberUSA  Culture – Books, authors, poetry, art etc. You choose! Research a topic and tell us about it.   
Thursday 20th October  NWR – Annual Big Read – Review We have chosen 3 books from this year’s list. Read 1 or more and tell us what you thought of it/them. 5 Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris Wilding:  The Return of Nature to a British Farm by Isabella Tree (yes, really!) Big Brother by Lionel Shriver 

Evening meetings start at 8.00pm unless otherwise stated. We hope to incorporate more meetings in members’ homes as circumstances allow

Coffee Mornings and walks will be arranged on an ad hoc basis.

Nantwich Players

You will be emailed when tickets are due to be released and can book them yourself online or go to the Nantwich Tourist Information Centre

If you are unable to do either of these, please ask another member of the group to book them for you.

Book Group

We are members of the Library Reading Group scheme and receive sets of books every 5/6 weeks.  There is a fee of about £10 per year each depending how many of us are in the group. Meetings are usually held on a Tuesday or Thursday at 8pm.  Ann is the current organiser.  New members are always welcome.
