At our meeting yesterday we discussed the traditonal food eaten in each of the Benelux countries. To round the evening off we enjoyed sampling some of the more appetising examples – Ardennes pate, a selection of cheeses, savoury vegetable cakes and sweet rice cakes, bread with chocolate sprinkles (the favourite breakfast of children in The Netherlands), waffles, various sweet biscuits and, of course, some delicious Belgian chocolate. All washed down with Belgian cherry beer and creme de cacao. A wonderful time was had by all.
